A non traditional push present
Why a Push Present?
A mother’s body has to work pretty hard to grow and carry a baby - not to mention birth one. So once the baby is delivered, she deserves a huge amount of praise, admiration and appreciation and this is where the “push present” comes in. It’s a gift for the new mother in recognition of the monumental job that was bringing new life into this world. The gift is both meant to celebrate the new baby’s arrival and act as a sort of compensation for all of the discomfort women can experience throughout their pregnancy.
Traditionally, it is the partner who gives the push present, but who says we have to stick to tradition? These rings were gifted to the new mother by her mother, a sort of “first grandchild push present”, because the excitement of being a first time grandmother knows no bounds.
Two stacking rings, that can be worn separately or individually were this new mother’s gift. Involving both the grandmother and the mother was key to achieving exactly what they were looking for. The mother wanted to give focus to the stones while the grandmother wanted a very clean and modern design.
A very simple claw set was used on a modern and clean 18 carat gold shank to create this look. One ring with a green amethyst and the second now with a yellow quartz.
Both mother and grandmother were very pleased with the result and baby is doing great!
